Top Wedding Destinations For Each Season

Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular. With couples looking to turn their weddings into a vacation with their friends and family, destination weddings are a way that couples can extend the wedding experience. Here are some popular wedding destinations for each season.

Spring: Dublin, Ireland

When looking for a destination wedding for the spring, go with a location where you can combine a love of nature with an outdoor setting.  Dublin, Ireland has a charm and history perfect for an outdoor wedding. Dublin has many locations to choose from, including castles for a fairytale feel and churches for a more traditional wedding. Many of these venues also include gardens for receptions and photos.

Dublin is the capital of Ireland and is on the river liffey. Enjoy seeing bluebells, poppies, and geraniums as you tour the city pre or post wedding.  Likewise, you can enjoy local parks, the Dublin zoo, and the National Museum of Ireland with your guests.

Summer: Amalfi Coast, Italy

With beaches and mountains, there is something for everyone on the Amalfi Coast. Right on the coast there are small villages and towns with charming venues to host your wedding and your guests.  The options are plentiful so look around to find a venue that meets your needs. Known as one of the most romantic destinations in Italy, the small coastal towns sit between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains, so you and your group can spend time at the beach, hike the mountains, and grab a pizza and other local cuisine.

The Amalfi coast is also a way to include a vacation with your friends and family and extend your wedding past your ceremony. Some activities include chartering a boat for a day of sailing and swimming, taking the ferry between towns for shopping and dining, or taking a tour of one of the  many ceramics studios; Amalfi Coast ceramics are artistically stunning.

Fall: Napa Valley, California

Located north of San Francisco, and known as Wine Country, this destination is perfect for the fall because it’s known as grape harvesting season. The colors, the views, the weather, the food, make this an ideal destination for a fall wedding. Enjoy the Napa Valley wine train, a traveling restaurant on rails for your rehearsal dinner or post wedding celebration. With over 400 wineries and restaurants, you have ample venues to host your wedding and/or reception.

Winter: Telluride, Colorado

A former Victorian mining town, the town of Telluride is located high in the Rocky Mountains.  This is a picturesque location for those looking to have a wedding in one of the most popular skiing venues. The San Sophia Overlook is a location only accessible by gondola, and offers views of the town and the surrounding mountains.

In town, there are many lodges and hotels to host small or large weddings. Some include outside wooden decks for wedding photos and some have amphitheaters to accommodate up to 250 guests. Enjoy a plethora of winter activities such as skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, dog sledding, and horseback riding as part of your wedding celebration.
