We’re Going to the Curvy Con 2017
We’ve been a little busy here at FanC Designs this month, but all for very good reason. We are thrilled to announce that next month, we’re going to the Curvy Con 2017!
What is Curvy Con?
Curvy Con was created by fashion blogger Chastity Garner and lifestyle blogger and youtuber CeCe Olisa. It’s a two day celebration of plus-size women, bringing together fashion designers, fashionistas, bloggers and vloggers. We’ll shop, work out, and talk about topics like confidence, style, dating, and body positivity.
This year, Curvy Con will be hosted at the Metropolitan Pavillon on September 8-9. Friday will be largely devoted to shopping, with the exception of a workout class at 10:30 and brunch for platinum ticket holders at 12:30. Dia & Co. will host the runway show at 6pm, and at 8pm Macy’s will host a party for platinum ticket holders. Saturday will be all about the panels, and the panelists are respected names in plus-size fashion and lifestyle. Whitney Way Thore of TLC’s My Big Fat Fabulous Life and Ashley Nell Tipton will speak on body positivity. CeCe Olisa, Gabi Gregg, Nicolette Mason, and Chastity Garner Valentine will be panelists on the “Girl Boss panel,” hosted by Claire Sulmers.
Curvy Con hasn’t announced their keynote speaker yet, but with a guest list like that, we can only imagine they’ll be fabulous.
What is FanC Doing at the Curvy Con?
Although we design wedding dresses for all women of all sizes, our specialty is plus sizes. We’re passionate about body positivity, and we love the Curvy Con for empowering and supporting curvy women to be confident in their image and sense of style. FanC fits right in with everything that Curvy Con is doing, and we’re honored to be part of it. We will be networking, promoting and selling our plus size bridal dresses. More than anything, we’ll be there to take notes from all the amazing women putting this convention together.
How Can You Get to the Curvy Con?
Teal and Platinum tickets are already sold out, but you can still buy a general ticket for $99 (plus a small service fee). General ticket holders can still attend the workout, shops, runway show, panels, and speakers. Your ticket will also come with a free tote bag, and you’ll need it to take home all the goodies you buy.
The host hotel this year is The DREAM Midtown. You can get a bronze queen room or a silver double room at a discounted rate with promo code thecurvycon. However, you can choose to lodge elsewhere if you prefer.
So, what do you think? Can you make it to New York for the Curvy Con next month? We’d love to see you there!
