5 Wedding Favor Ideas

Wedding favors are something that every couple discusses as they plan their reception. You want to find something that is practical and useful for guests, but also unique and special. Here are five wedding favors to consider.

#1 – Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate Bags

Coffee or tea is a popular choice for morning beverages. Guests can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at their leisure and remember your wedding celebration. Coffee or tea can be easy to get because you can visit your local coffee place or order from your favorite company. Coffee or tea also gives you the option of playing with flavors to make your own combinations. This is a versatile favor you’re your guests can enjoy multiple times.

#2 – Mini Cocktail Kits or Local Spirits

This is a variation of hot beverages discussed above. A mini cocktail kit is fun both for you and your guests. The kit can include ingredients for your favorite cocktail (especially if you have created a custom cocktail for your reception) or have basic ingredients to allow them to make traditional cocktails.  Using local companies is a way to support your local wineries, breweries, or distillers  and  can help introduce guests to some of your favorite local brands.

#3 – Personalized Candles and Match Boxes

Depending on the time of year you get married, a candle can be a fun and practical gift. Have guests relive your wedding day every time they use the candle with a custom label, such as your names, and the date of your wedding. Candles can come in various scents and colors so you can customize the candle to your liking. As an added touch, have the candle scented with your favorite fragrance as an additional reminder.  Adding a matchbox is a nice way to complete the favor.

#4 – Personalized Mugs or Tumblers

Another practical favor for you and your guests. While we all have lots of mugs and tumblers, this favor would give them something special to remind them of your wedding day. The mug or tumbler can be customized with the date of your wedding, or a photo or graphic from your wedding. Make sure if the favor is not dishwasher and microwave safe it is clearly part of the packaging, along with care instructions.

#5 – Guest Portrait Photos

For those having a smaller wedding, or one where you want a unique wedding favor, consider this, a guest portrait.  They can be casual or more formal depending on the guest’s preferences. These photos can be displayed in the home as another reminder of your wedding celebration. For a casual photo, have guests do fun poses to make them even more personal. For a personal touch, add your names and  wedding date to the bottom.
