‘Spring’ into Action with a March Wedding

…With flowers blooming, and the fresh feel of the world anew, spring is a wonderful time to plant the seeds of a new marriage along with the world waking from its winter-respite.

From the decor, to flowers and outfits, light, pastel colors generally fit the theme in the most obvious and airy way. Lilac, pinks and purples work great as well.

Some important dates in the month of March are:

International Women’s Day – 8th March

March Wedding
International Women’s day commemorates the movement for women’s rights throughout history. It is an important date that was first held on February 28, 1909 in New York and organized by the Socialist Party of America. On March 8, 1917, a demonstration of women textile workers in the Russian Empire began covering the entire capitol city. This was the beginning of the Russian Revolution which soon resulted in the Emperor of Russia abdicating and the provisional government granted women the right to vote. A marriage around this time is great for women interested in feminism and women’s (or general human’s) rights and it’s the perfect time to make a statement if that is a strong interest for you and your loved ones.

St. Patrick’s day –  17th March

 Theme Saint Patrick's Day

“St Patrick’s Day, while not a legal holiday in the United States, is nonetheless widely recognized and observed throughout the country as a celebration of Irish and Irish-American culture. Celebrations include prominent displays of the color green, religious observances, numerous parades, and copious consumption of alcohol.[62] The holiday has been celebrated in North America since the late 18th century.”

If you’re family is of Irish origin then setting a date on or close to St. Patrick’s Day may be a great way for you to include your culture into the Wedding.

Whether you choose to go whimsical with a spring fairyland, historical with strong passions or fun with a holiday theme – make sure that your wedding speaks to you and represents the fresh new life that you and your fiance are ready to ‘spring’ into!
