Wedding planning typically involves negotiating with many different people. This includes both venues for your ceremony and/or reception and planners and vendors to provide goods and services. Here are 5 vendors that every couple should consider and how they will assist you.
Wedding Planner
While you can plan a wedding yourself, planning is easier when you engage a wedding planner. A wedding planner knows the industry and will have contacts to help make the planning and negotiating process easier.
Wedding planners are also specially organized, and they can help you find a plan b if necessary. Saving money is important when planning a wedding, and a wedding planner can help you budget, and give you advice on where you can save money. Wedding planning can be stressful and a wedding planner can take some of that pressure off.
Entertainment
Deciding to have a DJ or band is something that each couple discusses when they start planning. A DJ works alone and can create different playlists depending on your request. Having a different playlist for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing is a great idea. A band provides live music; however their “playlists” will be as diverse as a DJ.
If considering a band, talk with them well before your wedding day so they can learn any of your requests not in their playlist. Couples may not think about ceremony music, however, this falls into the entertainment category if it’s prerecorded or live.
Caterer
No matter what wedding theme you have, and the number of guests you have, you should have a caterer. Usually when you book your venue, you will ask about catering services to ensure you have the menu you want on the day of your wedding. A caterer will work with you to design a menu that suits you and your guests’ needs. Caterers can also help you with your budgeting as they may have working agreements with food, beverage, and bakery/cake places.
Hair and Make-up Artists
A hair and make-up artist will be a big part of your day-of team. Usually, a hair stylist will discuss with you how you usually wear your hair and find a style that works with your gown and make up. Make-up artists are a great addition to your wedding day glam squad because you can ensure your make-up enhances your wedding day look. Ask if they will be around for last minute touch ups if needed.
Photographer and Videographer
Nobody will capture the moments of your wedding day like a photographer and a videographer. Photographers and videographers can work as a team to capture all the moments of the day including getting ready, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. Work with your photographer to plan events such as family and couple photo shoots on your wedding day or before. Tell your videographer how you want your entrance, first dance, and father/daughter and mother/son dance filmed beforehand.
These are just some of the vendors who will make your wedding easier to plan, and more fun on your wedding day. Check out our bridal collection if you’re in the market for a wedding dress.
