Believe it or not, 2025 is around the corner, and wedding trends for next year are starting to pop up. There are some trends that will last from year to year, and then there are some that will only be relevant for the current moment. Here are five wedding trends for 2025.
#1 – Wedding Cake Gardens
Gone are the days when a wedding cake would be just a cake standing alone on the table waiting to be cut. In 2025, couples are surrounding their wedding cake with accompaniments like vegetables, flowers and/or herbs. Seasonal greenery is a nice added touch. Adding scented candles can incorporate your favorite scents and can bring a uniqueness to your cake cutting ceremony.
#2 – Wedding Content Creators
In the days of social media, couples might not want to do all the wedding social media themselves, nor might they know the best way to share your content. Enter a wedding content creator, someone you can hire who will capture candid content for social media channels. This is not a replacement for a photographer or videographer, but they can work alongside them to capture other moments of your wedding day.
For example, an unedited photo could be a great addition next to a professional edited version of the same photo. Be sure both your and your partner are agreeable to hiring a wedding content creator.
#3 – Vintage Décor
Couples today are embracing trends of the past, and that’s not stopping in 2025. Classic flowers can be paired with organic textures to create a vintage look to your wedding. Draped fabrics paired with metallic trimmings and ribbons can add a touch of vintage elegance and intimacy to your wedding spaces. Also, a draped backdrop can be a focal point at your ceremony or reception.
#4 – Multiple Wedding Outfits
Weddings are no longer one-dress affairs. Brides are now doing one dress for the ceremony and having multiple outfits for the reception. Multiple outfits are another way to incorporate your personal style into your wedding day. Brides can have a free flowing dress for the reception and dancing, and change to a pantsuit for bidding farewell at the end of the night.
#5 – Micro Weddings
Micro weddings have been a trend for a few years now, and this trend won’t change in 2025. According to brides.com, a micro wedding is an intimate gathering typically of no more than 50 people. A smaller wedding doesn’t mean you don’t have the traditional wedding, just on a smaller scale.
This type of wedding usually allows for a multi-day event, such as a wedding weekend, or a week-long celebration if it’s a wedding destination. A micro wedding allows for more experiences that you might not enjoy from a large wedding, such as a concert or wine tour pre or post wedding.
